Assessment:

A simple story about two boys playing in a band and falling in love. It's quite slow with much more time spent on exploring characters' feelings than any plot, which works here because both the protagonists are charming and multifaceted. For the first few chapters it wasn't really grabbing me, but it picks up later and has some extremely good emotional beats. Bonus points for making characters actually gay, not the half assed "straight with one exception" this genre is plagued with, it makes the setup feel a lot more real and grounded (though this is undermined in later volumes where just about everyone seems to be gay, a trope I really dislike).
My biggest issue is that there isn't a whole lot else going on. Far more time and interest is spent on the lead-up to a relationship, and as soon as they're dating it quickly shifts focus to another would-be couple, which is where it lost me. In my opinion the first kiss and confession aren't the most interesting parts of a relationship, and I would have loved to see this relationship develop further without them being reduced to background characters in their own story.

Art:

Not really my style. The characters are sort of lanky and stiff in a way that doesn't work for me, though they are occassionally drawn more softly and cute. Backgrounds tend to be minimal but there's some decent texture at least. It never detracts from the story though, and all the key moments hit as hard as they should (particularly all the band playing and one kiss). Overall it's certainly not bad, just not to my taste.
