Assessment:
This is a collection of five largely unrelated stories. A nude model falls for his artist, complex feelings bloom between rivals at an arcade, the son of a rich family rebels by crossdressing, office coworkers hide a relationship, and two students struggle with the relationship they've been hiding for six years. They're short, and the first two feel like they could be proofs of concept for something really good. My thoughts on each are as follows:
- Really cute and sweet, if a bit shallow. There isn't really any drama and I love how they flirt.
- Still cute but a bit troubling, both characters are young and don't have a good sense of boundaries, it's awkward and believable. I liked it a lot.
- Just okay, but seemingly judgemental about crossdressing. I do like how it portrays it though, it's very messy and imperfect in the way that a boy trying on a skirt for the first time would look.
- Extremely short and simple but kinda sweet. It's unlikely to stick with me.
- Kind of messy and confusing, and anticlimactic. The relationship is cute though and I like how the tension comes from the decision to hide moreso than the threat of being found out.
Art:
A little rough, but really cute. I'm very fond of the proportions; charaters are mostly composed with soft square shapes, which is most noticable around the face and mouths. It's at the same time masculine and soft, with a sort of boyish quality. The background are plain, when they're there, and it struggles a bit with some angles, but the pretty bodies and expressive faces make up for it.
